Wellsite Supervisor

Discovery Natural Resources LLC is a domestic, onshore exploration and production company with over 1,000 wells in operation in Texas.
The Wellsite Supervisor coordinates aspects of well workover/well maintenance operations including directing on site well service operations, transferring materials, documenting cost estimates, inputting daily reports into the well history database. This role’s primary focus will be on onsite workover rig safety, cost efficiency, and quality of operations completed. The Wellsite Supervisor will supervise workover rig crews and all well service operations. A strong history of well service and down hole well work is required. This position will report to the Well Intervention Foreman.
- Be a safety leader on job site and as a representative for Discovery Natural Resources.
- Supervise the following operations, but not limited to: Workover rig (workovers and abandonment), water/pump trucks, wellhead repairs, fishing operations, roustabout crews, wireline/slickline, and hot oil services.
- Coordinate and supervise well service crews and contractors on well workover operations.
- Input and maintain complete, accurate, and detailed records in WellView, including daily operations, cost, performance data and wellbore diagrams.
- Participate in JSA/Safety meetings and ensures all work is compliant with all company safety and environmental policies.
- Ensure all incidents, spills, and near misses are reported in a timely manner.
- Solve moderately complex well problems and issues as they arise.
- Communicate issues as they arise to the Well Intervention Foreman.
- Maintain accurate tubing tallies and equipment inventory; submit material transfers as required.
- Contribute to workover procedures and processes when needed.
- Make daily inspections of all rig operations to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Required to be onsite during daily rig operations to ensure safe operating procedures are followed.
- Exercise judgment and communicate path forward in determining best course of action concerning oil and gas completions, recompletions and workovers as problems arise.
- Use best available contractors at best available price as determined by Discovery.

- High school diploma required.
- Current well control certification or ability to obtain before first day of employment.
- 10+ years direct experience of supervising workover rigs, slickline, swabbing units, and hot oilers.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively and productively in a team environment.
- Ability to build productive relationships and communicate daily with office-based engineer or supervisor.
- Thorough knowledge of oil and gas artificial lift operations including downhole pumps, plungers, and gas lift.
- Proven ability to analyze and understand complex situations quickly and develop practical, appropriate solutions.
- Ability to demonstrate results for performance improvement and optimization.
- Knowledge of cased hole operations including well clean-outs, packer operations, integrity testing, fishing, etc.
- Able to recognize downhole problems which could impact production such as scaling, corrosion, and paraffin.
- Proficient use of computer programs including Wellview, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Valid driver license and good driving record.
- Ability to determine if safety hazards exist and take appropriate action.
- Demonstrate integrity when making decisions on behalf of Discovery and third-party services.
* Majority of work will be outdoors under variable weather conditions. Long hours with occasional need to stay in the field for 24-48 hours or more at a time.
