Discovery Natural Resources LLC is a domestic, onshore exploration and production company with over 1,000 wells in operation in Texas.

The Operations Manager has responsibility for developing, fostering and supporting a safety and process driven culture for the overall organization while leading the daily field operations including production, facilities, construction, water infrastructure, pipeline transmission, compressor activities, completions and workovers; provides direction in safety, quality control, compliance, regulatory, operational and administrative matters.  This position will be located in the Barnhart, TX field office.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Responsible to lead, guide, evaluate, and develop a team of support function supervisors and employees to ensure that the organization achieves its business objectives and complies with all relevant regulations and laws
  • Assists with planning and organizing workloads and staff assignments, reviews progress, directs changes in priorities and schedules as needed to ensure work is completed in a safe, efficient and timely manner
  • Leads personnel and operations in such a way as to promote and maintain a safe work environment while ensuring the production of oil and gas are maximized
  • Participates in the selection/promotion of staff, salary change considerations, and disciplinary matters
  • Tracks costs by reviewing and approving invoices, costs and price quotes
  • Manages projects within assigned area of responsibility
  • Coordinates safety and emergency response, and new hire orientation/training programs
  • Responsible for inputs to the strategic support planning and execution to enhance profitability, productivity and efficiency for all operation support functions

  • Responsible to maintain an effective, skilled operation support functions structure to meet the needs of the business in the short and longer term, maximizing reliability and quality and minimizing cost exposure
Education & Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years, well-rounded experience in field production, facilities, pipeline, and construction operations
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co-workers, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word,  PowerPoint and Outlook
