Materials Coordinator
Barnhart, TX


Discovery Natural Resources LLC is a domestic, onshore exploration and production company with over 1,000 wells in operation in Texas.

Reporting to the Sr. Materials Coordinator, this person will support materials management, inventory management, fleet vehicle management, and procurement activities.  This person will spend approximately 50% of his or her time operating forklifts outside in the Barnhart yards and 50% of his or her time performing other tasks described below.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts to load and unload materials in a safe and efficient manner
  • Monitor the entrances to the Barnhart yards
  • Clean and organize the Barnhart yards, storage building, and storage containers
  • Perform physical inventory counts
  • Enter material transactions into an electronic materials/inventory management system
  • Issue purchase orders using an electronic purchase order system and coordinate deliveries
  • Assist with fleet vehicle management, including fuel cards and telematics
  • Properly dispose of fixed assets
  • Act as a backup to the Sr. Materials Coordinator
  • Take on other special projects as required
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required; some post-secondary education desired
  • 2+ years of experience in upstream oil and gas operations preferred
  • Experience in Supply Chain Management preferred
  • Experience with electronic materials, inventory, and purchase order systems preferred
Skills & Knowledge
  • Commitment to Discovery Natural Resources expectations and core values.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain one required
  • Must be able to understand and communicate in English; fluency in Spanish a plus
  • Solid understanding of logistics documentation, including proof of delivery paperwork
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Windows, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Office
  • Self-starter with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills; able to prioritize numerous tasks
  • Sound decision-making capabilities; able to problem-solve
  • Strong focus on continuous improvement
  • Able to work independently under limited supervision and direction in a fast-paced environment

* Frequently required to work in variable and possibly extreme weather conditions.  Frequently required to reach, kneel, crouch, climb, or balance.  Regularly required to lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs.  Regularly required to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
