Overview

Discovery Natural Resources LLC is a domestic, onshore exploration and production company with over 1,000 wells in operation in Texas.

The HR Specialist will report directly to the Senior Manager, Human Resources. As a member of the Human Resources Team, you will primarily be responsible for payroll processing and recruiting as well as general HR support. The successful candidate will work with considerable independence and with all levels of the organization and support both our Denver Corporate office and Texas field offices.
 

Primary Responsibilities
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for Colorado and Texas employees
  • Engage with hiring managers to determine best recruitment techniques to fill open positions and coordinate the recruitment of prospective employees for open positions
  • Coordinate with hiring managers to identify and recommend the most qualified candidates
  • Facilitate background checks and extends offers
  • Complete all onboarding activities 
  • Ensure accuracy of data entered and maintained in HRIS system
  • Advise employees of eligibility, provisions and other matters related to benefits
  • Maintain benefits records, invoices and documents
  • Support employee relations and performance management activities
  • Actively collaborate and build relationships with employees, supervisors and managers
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources work-related experience; preferably in the oil and gas industry
  • At least one year of payroll processing experience
  • Professional in Human Resource certification (PHR) preferred
Skills & Knowledge
  • Commitment to Discovery Natural Resources expectations and core values
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • ADP Workforce Now experience strongly preferred
  • Professional written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meeting multiple deadlines consistently

Compensation and Benefits

  • Estimated pay range:  $75,000 – 90,000 (depending upon experience of the successful candidate)
