Drilling & Completion Technician

Overview

Under limited oversight, performs a variety of tasks in support of the Drilling and Completion functions of the company.  As a technician, performs routine duties with a great deal of autonomy, as well as assigned projects.

Discovery Natural Resources LLC is a domestic, onshore exploration and production company with over 1,000 wells in operation in Texas.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist Drilling and Completion Managers in preparing, maintaining and distributing all internal and external reports
  • Oversight of daily Drilling and Completion activity reports
  • Maintain posted Drilling and Completion schedules
  • Administrate Peloton’s WellView/SiteView and Landmark’s Compass software’s
  • Develop tracking mechanisms for Drilling and Completion KPI’s (key performance indicators)
  • Prepare and maintain wellbore diagrams
  • Interact with Engineering, Geology, Land, Regulatory, Field Personnel, Surveyors and State and Federal regulatory agencies
  • Schedule and coordinate staking of well locations, review and finalize well plats for regulatory group
  • Aid Drilling and Completions departments in regulatory and compliance issues
  • Research and obtain data concerning wells drilled in surrounding area
  • Code and organize invoices
Education & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of related industry experience
  • Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred
Skills & Knowledge
  • Knowledge/experience with industry software’s: WellView/SiteView and Compass
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and databases (Excel, Spotfire, Access)
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills
  • Ability to communicate regularly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with management, coworkers, contractors and other departments impacting and impacted by drilling and completion schedules
