Control Room Supervisor

Overview

Discovery Natural Resources LLC is a domestic, onshore exploration and production company with over 1,000 wells in operation in Texas.

Reporting to the Production Superintendent, this position will manage the day to day operations of the Control Room and supervise the Control Room Operators.  This position carries a large range of duties and must be able to adapt and adjust to the needs of operational strategies at any given point in time.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Development of Standard Operating Guidelines related to control room responsibilities
  • Lead in creating additional operation Control Room processes and reporting
  • Work directly with the Automation department to ensure end devices and communication networks are functioning as required 
  • Work directly with the SCADA engineer in developing SCADA screens
  • Work with production operations to optimize wells using SCADA software
  • Provides technical support during field emergency events
  • Oversee and maintain schedules for Control Room Operators
  • Work in the Control Room periodically to fill in when needed
Education & Experience
  • 5 years of Oil and Gas Control Room Operating experience required
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory and leadership experience in a Control Room
  • High School Diploma

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must
  • Strong aptitude in math; ability to use addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to perform flow, pressure, performance, and meter calculations
  • Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Work well under pressure
  • Possess problem-solving skills
  • Experience with computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Production Accounting software, SCADA, Camera systems etc.
  • Basic knowledge of Production, Completion and Workover
  • Knowledge of Rod Pump, Plunger, ESP and Gas Lift Systems
  • Ability to trace process flow

*Work is performed in a normal office setting, requiring long periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional field travel required.
