Contract IT Specialist

Overview

Part-time position providing end user help desk support, PC and network troubleshooting, and communications troubleshooting for Discovery’s Denver Headquarters.

Discovery Natural Resources LLC is a domestic, onshore exploration and production company with over 1,000 wells in operation in Texas.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Setup and deployment of new workstations and laptops
  • First line of contact with end users for help desk support via phone, e-mail, and in person.
  • Provide troubleshooting and help to end users for:
    • Microsoft Windows Desktops & Laptops
    • Mobile Devices
    • VoIP Phones
    • Oil & Gas software applications
    • Printers
    • Wireless networks
  • Travel to field other remote offices periodically when needed.
  • Follow company IT procedures and security protocols.
  • Run security and analytical reports
Education & Experience
  • AA/AS degree in Computer Science, MIS or related degree is desirable. 
  • Related work experience considered in lieu of education.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, analyze and solve problems.
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure, servers, networks.
  • Keen understanding of desktop configurations.
  • Knowledge of oil & gas business beneficial.
  • Knowledgeable on the Microsoft technology stack.
  • Must be well organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong inter-personal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
